Placeholder Post!

I've been wanting to post here for quite a while concerning the year 2 obesity and environment conference that I attended back in June. I haven't had a chance to write up my notes! Other posts are being held up by this missing post. I've decided that the solution may be to post this place holder post. Check back here for further developments. I hope to have the "Obesity and Environment" entry posted by November at least!

Basil Success!

Planning, executing, and recovering from our Miami trip has taken all of July so far. Before we left town I repotted my basil and added some of the mystery fertilizer that Armand gave me. I'm definitely reaping the rewards! One of these plants (green pot in front) is left from last year's basil plant. The smaller one on the windowsill was a gift from Armand earlier this summer. The big blue one is this year's basil plant from Whole Foods. I think I will have good basil growth to last me a few months! My basil does amazingly well in my closed up apartment (northern exposure).

Asylum Street Spankers at Iota

We were able to take a break from the craziness of July to attend the Asylum Street Spankers show at Iota. They didn't play all of my favs but some of them.

The XL7: From South Florida to NW DC

The XL 7 makes the transition from South Florida to my block near Logan Circle, NW DC. The trip was a success! It was a good trip although very much a working trip. Really not such a bad drive, especially if you have strategically placed friends along your driving route.

Kendall Post Office, Miami Florida

Around 500 lbs of books and CDs were shipped media mail. This photo was taken during our first trip to the post office. Yes, we had to ink out all of those "Haz Mat" labels.

The XL 7 in Coconut Grove, Miami

One of the major projects of our Miami trip was to empty Serge's storage unit and bring any keeper items back to DC. This required a special type of vehicle. Here is a photo of our road trip vehicle, the XL 7, parked in trendy Coconut Grove.
